Welcome to cgtnet.dk

Who are you and why should I care?

My name is Christoffer G. Thomsen, and I live in Denmark. My primary interests are Linux, gaming, IT generally and photography. I am a liberal (classic liberalism, not American left wing socialist liberalism (which isn't liberalism)), I drink too much cola (mostly Pepsi), I love the bittorrent protocol, I do not like Mac's, any other Apple product or Apple Inc. generally, I have two desktop PC's (DPC1, DPC2) and a laptop (LPC1), I am registered Linux user #506789, I am a huge fan of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software), I care a lot about privacy, Google != friend, I have a Nikon D90, I love fastfood and uhh... I think thats the most important things.

Alright, now I know who you are, but I still don't know why I should care?

Bittorrent

I love the bittorrent protocol, and it is very important to me that people (and organisations like RIAA, MPAA, IFPI, etc) understand that bittorrent was not specifically created to share pirated content, and that it has many legal uses too. A good example is Linux and other FOSS like OpenOffice.org, that distributes their software with bittorrent and thereby minimizing bandwidth use on their servers and let the users download it from eachother. On Windows I recommend using uTorrent, even though it is properitary, because it is the best bittorrent client ever, PERIOD!. On Linux and OS X I recommend using Transmission. To read more about bittorrent I suggest going to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_protocol. Blizzard, the company that gave us Diablo, (World of) Warcraft, Starcraft and more, uses bittorrent in the Blizzard Downloader to distribute files fast, while also balancing server load.

Ok, sounds good. But lets say I wanted to contact you, how would I do that?
